Established in 1992, Acacia is an AUKUS Accredited User based in Australia with 70+ employees, and with a subsidiary (Acacia Systems Inc) operating out of Virginia, USA. Acacia’s products are based on integrated software solutions in the Air, Land and Sea domains.
Areas relevant to the AUSA audience would primarily focus on Acacia’s CUAS C2 system (the program of Record C2 system for the Australian Army), and our Onyx Detection, Localisation and Tracking solution (particularly relevant for integrated maritime operations combining above water (CUAS) and below water (USV, UUV threats) in what is becoming known as the “Hybrid Navy” concept). Hybrid Navy concepts include USVs operating with CUAS and ASW capabilities integrated into either surface combatant ‘mothership’ or shore-based oversight. Acacia provides the lightweight C2/Combat Management System ‘glue’ in these concepts
Acacia offers three products.
Cortex Mission Management system and C2 system.
Provides agile, high-reliability, accredited software integrated mission management and C2 system solutions for Air, Land and Sea domains.
Onyx Detection, Localisation and Tracking system.
Provides high-reliability, low-false-alarm automated tracking in the acoustic and above water domains. Software-only solution capable of integration into existing hardware systems.
Reflex Command Decision and Analytics and Event Review system.
Command Decision Analytics Tool usually designed for integration into critical mission systems rated into Cortex Mission Systems (for example for Australian Army’s LAND156 CUAS system) that enables the recording and post-event interrogation, annotation, aggregation and review of mission critical data sources.
Acacia works with larger Primes to offer agile, responsive, adaptable CUAS and other Combat Management System solutions in the land and maritime domains.
Acacia provides the agility of a smaller company with the pedigree of delivering accredited C2 solutions in the Land (C2 system for the Australian Army’s LAND156 CUAS Program of Record), Air (Air and Ground Mission Management Systems for Australia’s Border Force and Maritime Safety Authority aircraft) and Sea (Australian Operation Resolute USVs, Collins Class submarine, Australian Air Warfare Destroyer, UK Type 26 frigates) domains.
Acacia’s DNA is based on a ‘warfighter first’ philosophy; all of our C2 and Mission Management System solutions have been co-designed with the warfighter to deliver what the warfighter needs and prioritises. Our agile process delivers updates to our products every two weeks (internally) and operationally-fielded updates as frequently as monthly, ensuring capability updates are fielded to the warfighter at the speed of relevance.
Acacia’s engagement opportunities in the US comes with the expressed support of the Australian Army and Australian Special Operations Command at two-star level, and similarly within the Australian Navy.
The Australian Army considers Acacia’s Cortex CUAS C2 system as “Evolutionary” rather than developmental. That term relates to the agility needed to be constantly evolving and reacting to the challenges that face the warfighter in real time, taking clear and relevant lessons from the conflict in Ukraine.
Our solutions are at generally at TRL-9, with the CUAS version of Cortex more realistically at TRL-8 as we work through the process of final capability demonstration/verification activities in 2026 and fielding operational capability to the Australian Army warfighter through 2027 and beyond.
Acacia has set up a local presence in the US based out of Virginia.
Acacia’s preferred model is working with a local company or agent in the USA.
