COMPANY OVERVIEW

AOS is one of the world’s leaders in autonomy and has the products, expertise, and experience derived from its history of partnering with defence organisations internationally. Founded in 1997 in Melbourne, Australia, AOS specialises in symbolic AI and intelligent software agents, which are the most powerful forms of AI. AOS’s discriminating factor is its Explainable AI, which makes it easy to rapidly develop and easily deploy explainable autonomous and intelligent systems. It has two unique features:

  • Its reasoning is open and explainable; it can be inspected, and it can be trusted.
  • Second, it is easy to build teams of autonomous vehicles or systems where the team is autonomously coordinated.

AOS has built a substantial capability in autonomous and remotely-controlled vehicles, by combining explainable AI with deep-learning approaches. The machinelearning models are used to build a situational awareness picture for the vehicle, allowing the symbolic AI to perform the goal-directed planning and decision-making that underpins truly autonomous systems.

PRODUCTS

Kelpie™ Autonomy Stack

  • High-level autonomy capability, i.e., decision-making
  • Converts remote-control UGVs or drones to autonomous vehicles
  • Onboard processing of data from onboard sensors allows local decisions about the vehicle’s path and the actions to taken
  • Local autonomy replaces fibre-optic FPV control

iWatchdog™

  • Autonomous tasking system coordinates teams of autonomous UGVs, drones and systems (e.g., teams of autonomous USVs, or distributed EW)
  • Facilitates human-machine teams by providing explainability for its reasoning

Kelpie® Mapper™

  • The “eyes” for 3rd party automation systems
  • Generates a near-real-time 3D terrain map, a “digital twin”

DISCRIMINATORS

  • AOS is a specialist in “white label” autonomy, enabling drone and remote-control vehicle manufacturers to produce autonomous versions
  • Autonomy keeps soldiers out of harm’s way on the battlefield
  • Increased capability, one operator for multiple vehicles
  • AOS’s autonomy is based upon intelligent software agents and teams of intelligent software agents

AVAILABILITY AND SUPPORT

  • AOS specialists are available to co-develop autonomy with OEMs
  • Full support for AOS software licences worldwide
