Arkeus is an Australian defence technology company established in 2020, specialising in advanced optical sensing and autonomous intelligence solutions for Defence and security applications. With a growing team of approximately 100 employees across Victoria, Queensland and the United States, Arkeus is developing sovereign Australian technology for deployment in Australia, the United States and its international allies.

Warden
Warden provides real-time, wide-area hyperspectral sensing for tactical autonomous aerial platforms, solving a core ISR problem: existing EO/IR sensors generate huge volumes of data that overwhelm operators, miss contacts, and break down in degraded conditions like smoke, haze, dust and humidity. Warden gives operators a single passive sensor that autonomously detects, classifies and tracks targets by day or night, across land, sea and littoral environments, in exactly the conditions where conventional sensors fail.
Beyond Warden, Arkeus also develops solutions for maritime domain awareness, disposable drone platforms, and optical sensing for ground and other operational environments — including integration with loitering munitions and precision-strike platforms. Across these applications, the goal is the same: legacy sensors and seekers break down exactly when conditions get hard — degraded visibility, contested electromagnetic spectrum, GPS denial — and Arkeus’s passive, AI-driven optical approach is built to keep working precisely in those conditions.
Arkeus has no direct, like-for-like competitor. While there are adjacent players in optical and AI-enabled sensing, none deliver a single passive sensor package spanning air, surface and precision-guidance applications the way Arkeus does. Most competitors address a single domain or a single piece of the sense-and-decide chain; Arkeus’s ARK-powered approach is built to work across all of them.
In competitive evaluations against established U.S. incumbents, Arkeus’ hyperspectral sensing systems detected targets up to eight times farther than existing optical systems in degraded visual conditions (haze, smoke, dust, humidity). Arkeus systems deliver real-time detection, classification and tracking instead of the delay typical of sensor data reviewed off-platform. Arkeus’ systems are also 100% passive, meaning it doesn’t emit a signal that gives away the platform’s position, a crucial advantage in contested or denied environments.
Arkeus’s core differentiation is that it gives autonomous platforms genuine real-time perception, not just data collection, in a single sensor package that works across land, sea and littoral domains without reconfiguration. Most of the industry has invested in better platforms while perception has lagged behind, Arkeus is built specifically for perception.
Arkeus rapidly manufactures and delivers to its customers. With its new Ormeau, Queensland facility, manufacturing is expected to increase in capacity twentyfold. Arkeus’ Warden is at a mature stage, and is currently an operationally fielded system. Warden has been integrated onto platforms like Aerovironment, Insitu, Tekever, Textron and Australian Army.
Arkeus is rapidly expanding beyond its Australian base in Melbourne to include manufacturing facilities in Queensland, manufacturing and support capabilities in the United States and support in the EU/UK region.
Australian Department of Defence: Arkeus technology is used across all three branches of the Australian Defence Force: the Australian Army, the Royal Australian Navy, and the Royal Australian Air Force. Arkeus was selected for the Australian Army’s Wide Area Airborne Surveillance Program in November 2025.
United States Department of War (recently renamed from the Department of Defense): Arkeus holds contracts with the department, secured following competitive evaluations against established American suppliers, including expedited delivery in response to demand for real-time surveillance capability.
United States civil defense and border security agencies: Arkeus systems have been deployed in support of United States civil defense operations, including border security missions.
Integration partners bringing Arkeus technology to platforms: AeroVironment (on its JUMP 20 uncrewed aircraft system), Textron, Tekever, and Insitu (a Boeing subsidiary), Arkeus’s sensors are fielded through these companies’ aircraft and drones. Ocius Technology has also integrated Arkeus’s surface solution onto its Bluebottle uncrewed surface vessel for maritime surveillance.
