FLAIM innovates training systems that enhance workforce readiness for high risk emergencies. Taking a collaborative approach, FLAIM leverages the expertise of its people and partners to deliver technology that enables peak performance when split-second decisions can make the difference between life and death.
Trusted by more than 400 customers with over 1,400 systems deployed in over 45 countries, FLAIM is transforming the way people train for hazards in high risk environments.
FLAIM has developed a Virtual Immersive Search Trainer (VIST) System that is purpose-built for counter-mine and explosive hazard awareness training. Operational with the Australian Defence Force, this solution complements traditional field training by combining high-fidelity virtual environments with real-world detection equipment. Trainees engage with realistic virtual minefields and explosive hazard lanes, reinforcing critical decision-making skills under pressure through repeatable ‘reps and sets’ that build muscle memory and tactical confidence. Each session is fully tailorable to instructional needs and concludes with an After-Action-Review (AAR), delivering visual data-driven insights to improve individual and team performance, preparing trainees for high risk environments whilst reducing live training costs and risk.
Trainer provides Defence firefighting units and Damage Control teams with realistic, fully immersive firefighter and damage control training without the risks or logistical challenges of accessing live-fire exercises. Combining haptically-enhanced industry standard equipment with realistic virtual scenarios, the system exposes trainees to high-pressure fire and HAZMAT emergencies in a safe and controlled environment to develop critical response skills, sharpen situational awareness, and enhance procedural response. Whether training for aircraft fires or compartment fires at sea, Trainer supports mission-critical readiness and complements high-quality live fire training. Features include team and role-based training to support team readiness.
FLAIM develops tailored immersive training solutions for its customers in Defence, leveraging its expertise in fire science and software development. FLAIM works closely with Defence stakeholders to co-design mission-specific training systems that support force preparation and capability development, from virtual and augmented reality to integrated haptic feedback. FLAIM’s solutions are flexible, scalable, and built for its customers’ unique training requirements.
