Praetorian Aeronautics is an Australian defence technology company forging advanced autonomous unmanned aerial systems and next-generation AI-enabled technologies to defeat autonomy with autonomy. Praetorian develops non-ITAR, interoperable capabilities designed to counter the rapid proliferation of drone swarms, loitering munitions, and other classes of unmanned systems.
An integrated hardware-software company, Praetorian delivers an open architecture ecosystem of fully autonomous interceptors, mothership platforms, advanced battle management systems, and a world-first dedicated counter-swarm AI. By embedding autonomy at the core of every platform, Praetorian enables accelerated decision cycles, higher precision engagements, and allows operators to better detect, track, and defeat complex autonomous threats across domains.
Praetorian systems are built for a new era of modern defence manufacturing: lowcost, sovereign, and built for scale. Modular, capital-light production lines leveraging frontier methods in additive manufacturing and industrial automation enable rapid iteration cycles and agile scale up to deliver the deep magazines of systems required to outpace the threats of today and tomorrow.
Fully Autonomous Interceptors:
Arrow: A fully autonomous, medium-range, hard-kill C-UxS interceptor to defeat Group 1-2-3 UAS and small-medium USV targets.
Dagger: A fully autonomous, long-range, hard-kill C-UxS interceptor to defeat Group 2-3 UAS and small-medium USV targets.
Command & Control:
Hadrian: A purpose-built, sensor-agnostic C-UxS battle management system for streamlined human-on-the-loop threat evaluation and weapons assignment against complex threats.
Cerebrum: Cerebrum is a world-first, purpose-built counter-swarm AI software plugin for Hadrian, designed to automate the TEWA process and accelerate an operators’ ability to manage and defeat large-scale drone swarms.
Dual-Use ISR + Motherships:
Venator: A fully autonomous, short-runway take-off multi-role UAS designed for land and maritime surveillance and deployment of interceptors and other effectors at range.
Trajan: A fully autonomous, VTOL multi-role UAS designed for surveillance and reconnaissance, close air support, and deployment of interceptors and other effectors at range.
Arrow and Dagger’s onboard mission computers support AI-enhanced optical terminal guidance, enabling it to detect, classify, pursue, and defeat threats without a pilot in control, delivering decisive intercepts in contested and denied environments.
Arrow and Dagger’s fully autonomous operation removes pilot training burdens, allowing immediate field deployment by non-specialist operators.
Praetorian’s non-ITAR supply chain enables rapid integration, sovereign manufacturing, and unrestricted export to allied nations.
Hadrian allows a singular operator to coordinate detection, tracking, and interceptor response to multiple targets, multiplying combat effectiveness without increasing force size.
Cerebrum is a first-of kind, dedicated counter-swarm AI, utilising cutting-edge, self-evolving, multi-modal algorithms to build swarm countermeasures at machine-speed for operators to deploy.
Arrow and Hadrian will be available for global operational testing and evaluation from November 2026. Cerebrum, Dagger, and follow-on mothership platforms will be made available for T&E across 2027.
Key customer relationships and discussions for Praetorian’s systems are not disclosed publicly.
