RedTail Technology (RedTail) manufactures man-portable counter-small unscrewed aerial systems (C-sUAS) small directed energy weapons (sDEW) at world leading SWaP-C. We specialize in AI/ML integrated electro-optics technologies applicable to secure optical communications, wireless energy and directed energy uses. RedTail’s flagship Katoomba™ sDEW is designed to close the C-sUAS capability gap associated with critical infrastructure, law enforcement, and military sectors. RedTail is NDAA-compliant and is in the process of expanding into the US Economy.
Katoomba™ sDEW:
The Katoomba™ sDEW is a combined laser effector and AI/ML targetting system designed to detect, track, and neutralise sUAS platforms. The on-the-edge AI-Aim-Assist (AAA) is capable of maintaining beam on target without accurate user aiming.
Several variants exist (K1D, K2D, K2Dm, K3D), optimizing SWaP-C with laser effects capability (Disrupt (dazzle), Deny (blind), Defeat (kinetic)). The Katoomba™ is picatinny rail mounted and deployable in standalone, rifle attached, or turreted formats.
Operable in full or partial autonomy (human in/ on the loop), enabling cost effective, scalable solutions for asset and location defense.
The K1D (dazzle) is currently at TRL6, with K3D (dazzle, blind, defeat) predicted to beat TRL6 in 2027.
Katoomba™ Scout:
The Katoomba™ Scout utilizes the Katoomba™ K2Dm platform to deliver autonomous and discrete situational assessment capability for forward deployed unmanned systems (UxS), together with an optical communications link to enable RF-free, jam-proof and secure communications and command and control (C2), at extensively reduced SWaP-C.
The K-Scout is platform agnostic (picatinny rail mounted), weighs approximately pounds, and can operate in denied environments.
Man-portable, attachable directed energy capability
Selectable low-collateral engagements (Disrupt/Deny)
Effective against all sUAS types, including fiber-optic and autonomous
Firearm style handling; user friendly with rapid training
Low weight (<6 lb.) and tether-free for maximum mobility
Countermeasure-proof
AI-Aim-Assist for rapid and precise engagements by regular police and infantry with no advanced marksmanship training
NDAA-Compliant
RedTail staff will facilitate assistance both remotely and on the ground, as needed, globally
Katoomba™ K1D is deployable within 12 months and K3D within 24 of engagement. RedTail is seeking early-stage customers and partners to accelerate delivery.
RedTail Technology is currently in discussions with elements from United States Air Force, United States Special Forces, United States Army, and various police forces for first trials of the K1D and K3D systems.
