SOIO - School of Information Operations offers a unique opportunity for individuals and organisations to receive world-class training solutions in electronic warfare, undersea warfare (USW), military space operations, maritime operations, cyber security and military uncrewed aerial systems (UAS). SOIO offers operationally focused short courses in these areas, and has a team of 25 instructors with extensive military operational experience to ensure relevance and real-world context. SOIO is also able to provide consultancy services in training, development and delivery.
• Electronic Warfare (EW) course – 4 days. This course provides students with the basic principles of Electronic Warfare (EW) in all domains
• Undersea Warfare (USW) course – 4 days. This course provides students with the basic principles of Undersea Warfare and introduces basic submarine detection theory and technologies including sonar (active and passive) and Electro Optics
• Military Space Operations course – 4 days. This course provides students a holistic overview of Defence Space Operations including SATCOM, space-based ISR, Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and more
• Maritime Operations course – 4 days. This course provides students with the basic principles of Maritime Operations and introduces core roles such as Sea Control, Power Projection and Maritime Security
• Cyber Security Frameworks and Governance course – 2 days. This course provides students with the cyber security principles associated with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), 27K and other cyber frameworks
• Military Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) and Counter UAS (CUAS) course – 3 days. This course provides students with a foundation understanding of Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) within the military context, including UAS doctrine, regulation, classification and capabilities
• Introduction to Weapon Systems and Aircraft course – 5 days
• Introduction to Military Information Operations course – 1 day
• RF EMF Safety Awareness course – 4 hours
• Electronic Warfare (EW) course – 10 days. This course provides students with an understanding of the principles of Electronic Warfare (EW), Electronic Warfare Operational Support (EWOS) and the production of mission data within an EW Centre (EWC). The course includes Electromagnetic (EM) wave, Radar and Electro Optic (EO) theory, Radar Parametric Analysis and EW principles
• Electro-Optics (EO) course – 10 days. This course is to provide students with an understanding of the application of Electronic Warfare in relation to Electro-Optics systems, including lasers. It covers the principles of EO, specific EO systems used by the military and addresses the threats to military EO systems
